An article recently surfaced online that asks readers which dance companies they want see in the UK, and why. Judith Mackrell, the author, points out that this summer is the 50th year two Russian ballet companies have been visiting London for performances. She also states, that this has “facilitated an exceptionally close relationship between British audiences and the Russian ballet, allowing fans a passionate intimacy with the latter’s repertory, its dancers and even its internal politics.”
Like Judith, we’re also curious to see which dance companies you’re familiar with, who have not made appearances in the U.S., and why. Plenty of our neighbors have wonderfully diverse repertories, yet we don’t always have easy access to them for live performances.
